We had to come out of our huge studio in Macclesfield’s Pickford Street Mill. The business rates had gone up and the whole affair became unaffordable for us. So we had dismantle everything, split up and all of us are now in different locations with our artmaking. I am now with Tine Studios, in Bollington’s Adelphi Mill. There is a bit less place then I had before but the change made me reassess my bearings, ask myself what I really want to do practically, post-PhD. I am still deliberating with myself what kind of practical work this is going to be. I will build on the PhD project in the sense that the human figure, drawing, outdoor and indoor environments will play a role. I also feel that - with my next work - I want to move closer to the human body again and focus ALSO on the outermost shell of our bodies, the garment, and how garments and other accoutrements impact on the way we understand ourselves, and the world around us.
