Isle of Tiree III: Geometrical shapes on boundary between water and land (2018)
During the summer of 2018 I spent two weeks on the Isle of Tiree, Inner Hebrides, Scotland (UK). I used that time - and location - to work on the last part of my masters studies for an MA Fine Art at the University Chester. I aimed to make artwork that emerged as an interaction between my own activities and the processes of the land and sea. I made drawings and sculptural additions to the land, the latter of which were meant to be only of temporary duration. I produced simple shapes from wooden sticks, paper and string whose aesthetic relevance only came into their own because my artmaking actions and the actions of the environment (some of which where dynamic, kinetic events, or the results of such processes solidified in material forms of rock, ground and vegetation…) came together.
