'Erwood Reservoir: white shapes' (2018)

This short project followed on from an earlier similar undertaking where I had made incisions into a square sheet of leatherette fabric as it was floating on the surface of a lake.
This project took place on Erwood Reservoir, in the Peak District (UK). I used scissors to make cuts into two large leatherette squares. My own movements in the water, and the water’s own gentle movements dispositioned the newly emerging leatherette parts and gradually pushed them over and under each other. The hight content of peat particles in the water visualised this process as thin layers of water sat on top of the floating leatherette areas.
