'Isle of Tiree: white shapes' (2018)
During the summer of 2018 I spent two weeks on the Isle of Tiree, Inner Hebrides, Scotland (UK). I used that time and location to work on the last part of my studies for an MA Fine Art at the University Chester. I aimed to make artwork that emerged as an interaction between my own activities and the processes of the land and sea. This particular vein of working documented here involved square leatherette sheets. I let them float on the water surface of Loch a’ Phuill, and made incisions into these shapes using just a pair of scissors. The wind and the water movements rearranged the floating fabric segments and made the shapes gradually drift towards the surf hut.
