‘Drawing/Sculpture/Isle of Tiree’ (2018)
During the summer of 2018 I spent two weeks on the Isle of Tiree, Inner Hebrides, Scotland (UK). I worked in that location because I wanted to transfer my artworking outdoors in the Peak District of England to another location. I aimed to explore the interconnection between my drawing and sculpturing actions and the processes of the outdoor environment and location. As my work took place during the time of my family’s summer holiday, the social interactions of being with other people also provided impulses for working. I had taken paper scrolls, wooden sticks, elastic string, some leatherette fabric and drawing tools like pencils or marker pens to the island and then responded to the environment by using these materials.
